Tests of purpose and vision- The sequel

Last time on this series, we examined four of twelve tests of purpose and vision- The test of apetite, pride, sex and money. Let's continue from where we stopped.
As an addendum to the test of money, let me quickly say that most christians find it rather challanging to be faithful when it comes to money. Money is the only thing Jesus put in the god class when he said "you can not serve God and mammon". The problem believers have is the love of money which, as scriptures put it, is the root of all evil. We have seen (and we will always see) men do all sort of things for the sake of money. Believers have to be espeially areful in this area because what you do for immediate gain and satisfaction could cost you your destiny.

Now to the next test- The test of Parenthood.
Honour your parents (Eph 6:1-3). How you treat your parents affects your destiny either positively or negatively. The consequence of dishonouring your parents is not just a curse but the result of breaking a principle.

The test of discipleship
The relevance of discipleship is the continuity of the expansion of your vision. A disciple is a man who lives a life modelled after the life of his master or mentor. Discipleship is beyond a communication of knowledge, it is living the life of the master- a transfer of life. I Cor 4:15;II Tim 2:1,2. A disciple is a son. Jesus affected twelve people for three years and we still have not recovered from the impact those twelve made in their time. A man can die but his vision can continue when he has disciples. Pouring yourself out into people is necessary for the perpetuation of your vision. Also, in the path to fulfilling your dream your faithfulness to your mentor of father can establish or abort your dream. This is what distinguished Elisha and Gehazi. You can choose to be Elisha or to be Gehazi in your relationship with your mentor or father but consider the respective outcomes before making your pick.

There are three sets of people God will bring your way or allow to pass through your life:
  1. Spectators: We find this set of people every where including ministry.Starting a work or initiating the mission that will birth the reality of your vision is one of the most difficult things to do. You have all sorts of people come to you but only a few are your own. Alot of them are not ready to settle down. They just want a piece of the action, that's all- no commitments, no loyalty, no strings attached.
  2. God's own: These are those who belong to God. These people have a good heart, they are comitted but they are not your own. God however sent them to you so that they can pass through you and you can pass through them. We have the tendency to hold on to these ones even when we knoe they are not ours to keep- ask Abraham the outcome when he held on to Lot for longer than necesary.
  3. Your appointed portion: These people are called by God and assigned to your life. They are not offended no matter what happens, not even by your weakness. Exo 17:11-13 shows these kind in Joshua, Aaron and Hur who were associates of Moses.
We need all three in our quest to fulfill vision.

The test of the prophet
No matter how highly placed you are in life, never forget or abandon your prophet (II Chro 20:20). Prophets are instruments of prosperity. Your prophet is not your mentor but somebody who God has used to place you in destiny. How can the ministry of your prophet expand you? Create time for your prophet, honour your prophet and give gifts or sow into his annointing. Your faithfulnessin these three areas will stir the grace over his live in your direction ond in your favour.

I hope you have been blesed by this teaching. The rest of it will come your way soon. Keep your fingers crossed and don't stop reading wordcompany! Shallom.

The Grace of Our Lord Jesus, the love of God and communion with the Spirit

On the Grace of our Lord, the Father's love and the communion of the Spirit in the life of the Believer. 2Cor 13:14 is a portion of Scripture quoted so often in church that the mention of it brings closing of service or benediction to mind. In this portion of Scripture which indeed is a prayer, is hidden an eternally powerful truth. It is my confidence that the Spirit of God by the will of God will shed light on our spirits as we seek the light of this truth, embrace it and apply it daily in our walk with God. It says "the Grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Love of God and the sweet fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all". What a prayer! First it is seen in this prayer, THE WORD, THE FATHER and THE SPIRIT. Once upon a time, in the beginning of time, there was a convocation and in that meeting, Elohim, was there with The Logos and His Pneuma, and the result was creation. What if there is a creative mystery embedded in this prayer in the life of a believer? What ...

Test of Vision and Purpose.

What is Vision? VISION IS A MENTAL PICTURE OF A PREFERABLE FUTURE. It is the ability to see the end of a thing before the beginning. In Gen 1:26, God made male and female in his own image and likeness (all of this was in God's vision, these things were not yet in the physical, they were in the mental realm). In Gen 2, we begin to see how God actually carried out his mission to translate his vision into reality. I prophesy into your life that your dream will not die. If you can dream it, you can achieve it. We see how that there had to be a man to till the earth before seed could grow. What about the man in Genesis 1? He was in the vision realm then. God had to put adam into a deep sleep to produce Eve. What happened to the male and female in Genesis 1? Genesis chapter 1 is an account of the mental picture of the God of all creation, Genesis 2 shows us the process. God created time so that the things in the spritual can pass through the proess of manifestation. Every thing in the ...

Thankful Thinking and Thanksgiving

I have a thought to share this morning. It is on the Thankful thinking and Thanksgiving.  One book of the Bible I really love is the Psalms. I love it because I can identify with it. It is a picture of the relationship between humanness and divinity, insufficiency and all-suffifiency, fallibility and grace. It is a picture of us and God, us swallowed in as we are, in His accommodating grace. David, expresses the principle of the success of this relationship in faith (conviction), trust and absolute dependence.  Thanks flows from a mind that acknowledges provision from a posture of dependence. Paul said we have no bragging rights because there is nothing we have that we have not received (1 Co 4:7). Our ingratitude therefore comes from our ignorance of our plant-to-soil kind of relationship with divinity as set forth by the law of creation: no creature is independent of its creator, every creature draws sustenance from its creator, the creator is source and sustainer of...
