Faith is central in the Christian life. The bible says in Heb 11:6 that it is impossible to please God without faith. Pleasing Him is being accepted of Him. This means that though the sinner has been vindicated by the blood of Jesus, his believing in that sacrifice and its efficacy in his favor, makes him acceptable to God. His faith pleases God. The righteousness of God imputed to man in Christ by faith is how we please God. Scripture also says that this man who has so pleased God should live by the same means by which he pleased God (Hab 2:4; Rom 1:17; Gal 3:11; Heb 10:38). Col 2:6 says that we must continue our walk in Christ AS as we received Him (in the first place). You have pleased God. Your faith in the sacrifice of the Lamb and in the work of redemption  and all it represents for you, has made you "...accepted in the beloved" (Eph 1:6). On the Grace of our Lord, the Father's love and the communion of the Spirit in the life of the Believer. 2Cor 13:14 is a portion of Scripture quoted so often in church that the mention of it brings closing of service or benediction to mind. In this portion of Scripture which indeed is a prayer, is hidden an eternally powerful truth. It is my confidence that the Spirit of God by the will of God will shed light on our spirits as we seek the light of this truth, embrace it and apply it daily in our walk with God. It is often said "do not be so heavenly conscious that you become earthly useless" but I say unto you, the man who is conscious of eternity as he ought cannot and will not be earthly useless. His heart will be set on pleasing God and that means obeying God's every instruction on his life. There is no man who has so lives that turns out useless to his world and generation. Jesus didn't turn out that way nor did the apostles and every other saint whose names we mention and whose works we reference. Their contributions derived from inspiration that flowed from their following God faithfully is the light we now shine for the next generation. God the Father is the most important revelation the new testament believer must catch. This revelation is the very core of the ministry of Jesus, while he was on earth and today in the lives of believers. The gospel has one objective which is to reveal to us the person and character of the Father. A man may be introduced to a child as being his father but it takes more than an introduction to have a family relationship. God's righteousness is born out of His love nature because He is Love (1 Jn 4:8). It is God's eternal correctness in consistence with His Love nature. In Hab. 2:1-3,we see a progressive journey of a God given mandate which we cannot ignore. Firstly, every mandate is God commanded. If it is not God commanded,it is not of God. God commanded doesn't mean spectacular. It is supernatural,not necessarily spectacular. For some,it was just a knowing that they will preach the gospel. It came as a vision or a series of visions and dreams for others while some had the Lord Jesus appear to them and tell them what they must do. Basically,(whether yours was spectacular or not) it has to be from God and it must have happened while you were in His presence. Secondly, God speaks only to men who are in His presence. When He does, it births a vision. Finally, every vision has a season of incubation before it manifests. This season is a period of much activity. What kind of activity? Let us learn a thing or two about faith from Orpah and Ruth from the book of Ruth. These two were the daughters in law of Naomi. Both of them loved Naomi very much  as we can clearly see but why did Orpah leave and Ruth stay? This comes down to a matter of perspective and perspective is the foundation of faith. How we see things or interprete life is a reflection of our perspective. Perspective has to do with reference point or point of reference and in this life there are two such points of reference that shape our perspective: the senses and the word of God. We read in the bible of the natural man being described as a man of the senses, being led and dominated by the five senses and as a result,seeing life from this perspective. We also see the spirit ruled man as a man led by the word. Matthew 4:4, Jesus speaking, said "man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God". Psalm 17:4 says "concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips, I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer." David was a man with a passionate heart for God. He is even referred to in scriptures as a man after God's heart. How did he get the Father's attention? Well yes he was a worshiper,a praiser and a wonderful giver but what really got God's attention concerning David was his heart and his attitude to God's word. Looking through the entire psalms it is very clear how this man's heart went out to God and his word. God's word was the template for his life and the basis for his passion. Things have happened since my last post, and i've wondered within myself: How is it that we, believers, have fallen into such decadent state? I took a look at The Word and my wondering landed me in acts 20:7-11 or so. Here i read a story about a certain young man, eutichus by name, who fell asleep while Paul was peraching in Troas and fell from the third floor window where hw was supposed to be feasting on the Word. I had an enlightenment here that satisfied my wandering thoughts. Many believers today are like eutichus in the body of Christ, sleeping instead of occupying or gettin busy for the Lord. I do not know if this generation is ready for the move of God that will usher in the rapture. Complacence is at an all time high with different kinds of christianity on parade. Believers are now more focused on their personal security then on the things of the Spirit. Happy new year to all my esteemed readers around the world. We have, together, seen the end of the first decade of the 21st century and i have been doing alot of thinking and personal evaluation. I have come to the conclusion that there is a place where we are, or were, and there is a place where we ought to be, or are tending towards. One of the most significant things that will happen in the year 2011 is the shift. This shift will happen on a personal and global scale and the shaking will bring about mixed consequences. This shift i am talking about will be characterised by "seasons." Your control of your seasons will determine where you will end your shift process. Before I got saved, my life was a mess. There was no element of control, I had cast off restraint and was on the fast track of destruction. I had a lot of upsetting experiences while growing up that had defined my values and perception about life. I blamed everyone and every thing except myself for my state. I reduced to a cynical, judgemental and paranoid fellow. My relationships were superficial and characterised by machinations. With elaborate exposure to the life of the streets, I became a master in the art of survival and I could use whatever means necessary to achieve whatever I wanted to achieve. The beauty of leadership is comparable to ripples generated when a stone is dropped in still water. Your circle of influence or leadership space refers to the immediate domain of your authority (Ayodolapo Ajao). Immediate in this context is relative because leadership space- like the ripple- is ever growing, so what may be immediate domain of authority for Mr A may not apply for Mr B. It all depends on how well your ability to lead has developed. As a leader, it is your responsibility to develop your capacity to lead. This is achieved in two ways- experience and personal development. The leader is not so much in control of the fact that his circle of influence is growing as he is in determining the rate of that growth and how well he co-ordinates. There are instances of leaders collapsing or crashing because they could not keep up with their growing leadership space. The leader has to be dynamic and flexible. Larry and Lynn arrived my place later in the evening and we chatted about how we spent the day. My day was not productive physically but I had covered miles spiritutually. Last time on this series, we examined four of twelve tests of purpose and vision- The test of apetite, pride, sex and money. Let's continue from where we stopped. As an addendum to the test of money, let me quickly say that most christians find it rather challanging to be faithful when it comes to money. Money is the only thing Jesus put in the god class when he said "you can not serve God and mammon". The problem believers have is the love of money which, as scriptures put it, is the root of all evil. We have seen (and we will always see) men do all sort of things for the sake of money. Believers have to be espeially areful in this area because what you do for immediate gain and satisfaction could cost you your destiny. Now to the next test- The test of Parenthood. Honour your parents (Eph 6:1-3). How you treat your parents affects your destiny either positively or negatively.
